I am trying to install the JAVA version of the mobile app with no succuss.  I can go to the install site, redirected to the download, accept that it is not signed, OK the download, then I get the error content mismatch error.  any ideas?

Sounds like your carrier network is blocking the download and install of the app.  Are you running any other apps on your phone that syncs to the Internet such as email?  Couple of things - could be that your service plan does not allow upload of data.  Another possibility is that your carrier is just simply blocking any download and install of any app that aren't theirs.  So double check that you have a data plan that allows 2 way data transfer and ask your carrier if they let you download and install any app you want, from anywhere in the Internet?

I have been able to download apps from any other source I tried.

How about your plan?  Does it allow data upload?  Many plans allow data download but not upload.

This can be tricky because Java phones are impacted by mods by the host carrier, network proxies, and even restrictions that the carrier places on apps (you can download their Tetris app but not the Notre Dame fight song) but it sounds like you've been able to download from other sites.

The difference with FitSync is that you're downloading AND uploading data so that could be the hitch.  I'd say check with your carrier to see if your plan allows syncing applications that send data both ways.  That's about all I can think that's left to try.  Let us know if you make any progress.
