Welcome, Laura!

So, what's for dinner?  Something healthy I hope  Grin

After indulging way, way too much at last night's Superbowl party I swear I am on vegetables, fish, noodles, yogurt and water for the next week!  Good gravy, so much for New Year's resolutions.

On to your question.  Before you can schedule workouts or programs you first have to copy them into your account.  Once they're in your account you can then do pretty much anything you want with them; schedule, edit, delete, rename, etc.

Here's how you schedule Workouts and Programs:

1 - Go to the libraries and copy a Workout or Program (or create your own from scratch).  After you do this you'll see it on your Workouts or Programs list.

2 - To schedule, you have some options:  You can go to the Schedule, click the plus sign, and then pick the workout or program you want from your list to add it OR go to your list of Workouts or Programs, click the Advanced Functions icon, select Schedule, and then add it to the day or days you want.

Programs can be tricky because they run by the week (like the 6 week flatten your abs, etc.) and start on Sunday.  When you schedule a Program it will always go into your schedule on Sunday.  But once it is in your schedule you can move it forward or backwards or skip days (like your poker night or your tennis day) so you can start on whatever day you want.  You can also pause your Program and restart it from where you left off or start from the beginning.

Hope this helps and relieves some confusion.  There's also a 24 hour email support so if you really get stumped they'll help you out but the boards are a good place to start.

THANK YOU!!!   SOOOOOOOOOO... much Paul!

What's for dinner???  You asked, well it is not too healthy but the kids and hubby love it, funny you should say "good gravy", I made chicken fried steak bits, mashed tators, and corn.  The only "healthy" thing I did was not make the oh so "good gravy" to go with it.  I should have also had a good nibble snack to eat prior to cooking.  I ate my dinner as I took the "bits" out of the pan.  UGH !  I am with you with eating mostly only salads.  Paul, as for your NewYears Resolution,  just get back to it dont let a day ruin your year!  But I think you know that already!

I have had a very stressful day and I had had it in the kitchen.  I asked my husband if he'd clean it before I realized he has a work meeting tonight, he said he would, but not tonight.  I told him I wasnt gonna clean it tonight either.  It shouldnt be a problem in the morning.  However it looks like I will have 2 if not 3 sick kids home tomorrow, had 2 home today!  It is life but boy does it mess with plans!

SO???  Are you the go to guy around this place?  You have helped me tons thanks again!  See on the boards as I look around!  Smiley    Blessings,  Laura

Laura
Welcome to the boards!  I love being able to schedule weeks of workouts too so I know what I"m supposed to do each time.  Right now I'm doing mainly cardio so hopefully I can burn more fat.  Still doing research on that i.e. in a given amount of time what exercises are more effective in burning fat.  Muscles burn fat so I figure my strong leg muscles will do lots of that  Wink

Send pictures of dinner.  I"m getting hungry  Grin  How old are your kids?

Glad to be of help, Laura.  Thanks for the kind words.

Oh but you are cruel!  Chicken fried steak bits, smashed taters, corn?  Bet you had key lime pie or pecan pie for desert!  My fish and veggies are starting to look pretty crummy right now but I will take your advice to heart and not beat myself up and get back on track with my resolutions.

I'm sure the big smiles around the table as the family dove into that great meal did a lot to relieve some of the stress of the day.  Good food with the family is precious time especially when they appreciate the chef's cooking.

Got a chuckle out of your kitchen cleaning standoff.  You see when a man says he'll clean the kitchen it means it'll get done before he reaches retirement age.  When a woman tells her husband to clean the kitchen it means now; not after football, not after working on the car, not after putting the tools away, but right now.  I'm slowly learning the code - don't want to risk a strike or walkout here at home.

Yes I'm one of the go-to guys here and pretty active in the boards.  There are also a few others who are active in the boards with fitness advice and tips so if you have questions or need advice just ask away.

Good luck with those kids - popsicles are great for sore throats and getting some hydration into 'em - and take a bunch of Echinacea for yourself to make sure you don't catch any of their cooties!

All the best,

Paul

Thank you ALL for the welcome.  Like I have said I am new at this, well not exactly new, actually it has been 25+ yrs since I did any type of weight training so I have done this before but it was more of a college social thing back then. I dated a body builder for 3 yrs in college, he did free weights and I did the machines, (so I KNOW my muscles do not bulk up).   I definitely did not need to lose weight then,  but NOW that is my goal as I become physically fit.  I have found, bought and am now using the training/nutrition plan in the book "New Rules for Lifting for Women ...".   I am sore but it feels great to feel sore.  I know I have done something positive.

I am sad to say that this will be my last post.  I will not be renewing my trial membership here.  I didnt want to just skip out.  I have felt so welcomed here.  Maybe when I am more fit & knowledgeable and actually can do the workouts here I'll be back.  I know they have beginner workouts here but sadly I am really a pre-beginner Undecided.  I am that out of shape and overweight, technically the charts say I am obese. Shocked !!! That was hard for me to type.  No one I know agrees with that when I tell them.  I think that is because I have a smaller petite upper body & that fools them especially with the right clothes on.  One does not see the fat that clings on to my smaller upper frame under the clothes I wear.  I actually do have a small bottom frame too but it has about 30#'s of pure fat on it!  My hips are just a little wider than my narrow shoulders.

I'd welcome accountability if youre willing to help me be accountable.  My goal is to turn this fat moma body to a "HOT MOMA"  body for my hubby.  I will not look like a fitness model but I can have a nice fit and healthy body, not exactly the 108# one he married but the best that this body can be!.   I CANT believe I let my fit body slip away.  Angry   If you would like to see my transformation and help me stay accountable (I will send weekly/monthly pictures) and youre willing to help, please email me.  I am going to try to keep my written emails short and to the point, but I am not too good at that, yet !!! Cool  But that is my intention & goal to help have more time to do all that needs to be done.

Thanks again & I hope to hear from y'all,
Laura

Hi Laura
Maybe yoiu didn't realize it but you know FitSync is free so you don't really need to renew anything.  I just checked to see if they changed anything and its still the same as when I signed up over a year ago.  The only time you pay is if you want  the software to log your workouts on your phone or PDA otherwise its free forever.

You're not alone.  I was like you about a year ago when I first started up here.  I used to do a lot of sports but then kind of got busy and 5 lbs turned into 10 which turned into I don't even want to say!

There are a lot of beginner workouts in the librareis and stuff you can do at home while watching TV or kids so take a look or tell me what you're trying to do and I can guide you

Laura,
We don't want you to leave Cry
Michele's right - probably not many people know this but FitSync online membership is free.  In the FitSync libraries, there are multi-week programs for weight loss that you can follow - just pick a weight that you're comfortable with and as you progress you can increase it.  If you track on FitSync, we'll be able to follow your progress too (in your Widget).  Do post your photos in your profile and we're here for you grrl!

I kinda know where you're at.  I used to cycle a lot (like 150-250 miles a month) and didn't have much body fat.  Then I moved to a different city and I didn't find a cycling club that suited me so I reduced my cycling.  Then I got into a relationship and started eating out, a lot!  Next thing you know I gained 20 lbs Roll Eyes  It's that vicious combination of not exercising enough to burn off the food.  Yeah, my bf started making comments (he's in great shape since he goes to the gym regularly and cycles a lot).  So first thing I had to do was to reduce my portions.  I found that to be the most effective way to reduce the caloric intake.  NOT going on a diet, because I hate the whole concept of denial - instead I embrace the concept of abundance  Grin BUT when it comes to food, it had to be in proportion or in this case, P-O-R-T-I-O-N.  That way I'm always on a "tasting menu" - I still get to eat whatever I want, just in a tasting size  Grin  And of course, I started going to the gym - I always used to prefer outdoor activities but sometimes that's not as convenient as a gym.  Got rid of 10 lbs but I've got another 10 to go ...

My goal is to get back into my old clothes!  SO let's go grrl!
