Greetings everyone!
All of you who have been asking us for an iPhone version should be pleased.  Our iPhone beta version is available for anyone who would like to try it.  It is a fully functional app and will work with your existing FitSync account.

Like our other FitSync mobile applications, you can log data, set targets, view videos, exercise notes, etc.  A new feature unique to the iPhone is charts and reports so you can see your progress on your handheld. The app will run on the iPhone or on the iPod Touch with Wi-Fi.

Here's what you do:

1 - Launch the browser on your iPhone or iPod Touch and go to:  http://fitsync.com/iphone

2 - Use your FitSync username and password to login

Please give it a try and let us know what you think.  We'll be making some final changes over the coming weeks and plan to launch it publicly in a few weeks but we need your feedback.

Thank you all for your support and best wishes for good health.

Hey congrats FitSync guys (and gals)!!

I see FitSync is an Apple iPhone staff pick on the Apple Web site!.  Very well done!  One of my clients told me about it because he just got an iPhone and has been logging workouts on his iPhone with FItSync for a few weeks now (I bug all my clients to log all of their training so I can monitor them and make sure they don't slack off).  He showed me his progress charts and everything else right on the phone!  Guys, this is really slick.  Keep up the good work.

With iPhone 2.0 released will you be offering a native iPhone application for FitSync?

The webapp worked okay.  I reverted to using the full web page interface.

Troy-
A native app is certainly something we're considering.  We'll keep everyone updated on our new releases and platforms.

You may not be aware but our Web app does allow logging off-line so you can use it without a live net connection for about an hour or so before your session expires.   Key thing to keep in mind is that you need to keep your browser open and don't route to other sites or close out of the FitSync app.  The way our app works is that it only requires a net connection at login and when syncing data up to the Web.  I use our app this way myself on an iPod Touch and works fine - I sync at the office before I head out and then sync when I get back about 45 minutes later.

Best of health to you,

John

I haven't even started using Fitsync yet...just got the free trial to use with my iphone...however...I noticed that I can't quite read all of the info in the description window for each excercise as there is no text scrolling ability (of course I could be missing something...).  Is there a way to see all of the description?

Hey Lilie-
The iPhone takes a little getting used to because it uses a lot of finger tap, hold, flick, drag, etc. techniques which is different from the other gizmos that most of us have been using before our iPhones.

To fully view an exercise note, do this:

Tap the exercise note/description field which will bring up your keyboard (the cursor will appear in approximately the area in the text where you tapped).

Then tap and hold in the note area until the magnifying glass appears and then drag your finger down to view more text (that's what we used to call scrolling).

So technically you are missing something but so are a bazillion other people (like me) who are still discovering many cool but cleverly hidden features.

ah...of course.  I have used that on other occasions...don't know why it didn't cross my mind on this one.  Thanks for the heads up.

Just wanted to share a tip from Apple.  You can put FitSync front and center on your Home screen for one tap access.  Just open FitSync, tap the plus sign, and then tap "Add to Home screen."  A Web clip will be added to your Home screen automatically for easy, one-tap access to FitSync!
