Author Topic: Treo 800w Install problem  (Read 2180 times)

I am trying to install FitSync onto my Palm Treo 800w.  On step 3 it is saying that I need to install "netcf.all.wce4.ARMV4.cab" in order to complete the install.  Where do I go from here?  I'm not sure how to get or install this so any help you can provide would be great!

Thanks,
Brenda

Also, am installing directly to the device and not a memory card.  Tried following steps listed in other posts, but still not working.

Hey Brenda,
If you're installing to your device and not the memory card, it should work.  Are you installing from a general Internet connection?  Sometimes, people have problems when they try to download software via their carrier's connection (read previous posts regarding Verizon).

You only need the .netcf if you have an older device.  If you get that message it means you're trying to install to the storage card so the app can't find the OS.  Try doing a reinstall - you'll need to download the installer fresh each time you do an install; you can't re-run it.  Here's how.

Click Start, Settings, System and then Remove Programs and delete the FitSync installer.  Then, via ActiveSync or Wi-Fi (not the carrier network because they could be blocking/corrupting OTA installs) go to http://fitsync.com and download the installer to your device.  Run the installer and install to device, not storage card.

Depending on your device,  the installer may run through all the way by itself or you might have to tap OK after each step is completed (3 steps).  You can also email us at info@fitsync.com if you still have trouble.

Brenda,
Looks like there are problems with the device and Palm has released an update:
http://www.palm.com/us/support/mobile/downloads/800wusb.html

Once you've updated, go through the remove/re-install procedure outlined previously.
