Author Topic: Web session no longer working  (Read 1858 times)

Ever since the new layout change I keep having my session time out.

Here is what I have done.  I log into the web page from my iphone, load the workouts, select "new data" for the workout, enter the data during the workout (30-45 minutes), and press "confirm new data" button.   The form is submitted, but instead of saving the data I am given a simple screen saying I was logged out AND ALL OF MY DATA FOR THE WORKOUT IS LOST.

That's a pain.

Any ideas what has changed since the main home page was redesigned?

Thanks,

Heya TroyP-

If I understand correctly, you're logging into our main web site from your iPhone to log data?   That's certainly one way to do it but you might try using our iPhone app (http://fitsync.com/iphone) which would be a heck of a lot easier plus the main web site isn't optimized for mobile AND our iPhone app can be used offline for up to 3 hours.

Here's the deal; the main website will timeout after 20 minutes of inactivity (always been like that) so if you don't submit the data until the end of your workout that could be why you lost your session.  The iPhone app can run offline for 3 hours.

I have an iPod Touch - I'm too poor for a fancy iPhone  Wink - that I use our iPhone app on.  I'll login to FitSync via wi-fi at home to download my workouts.  Then I go to the gym, do my workout, and then when I get home I sync up my data or I'll just use one of the free wi-fis around the gym.

Anyhoo, just keep an eye on the 20 minute main site timeout and you should be ok but seriously try the iPhone app.

cheers,

Melissa

I tried the mobile app, it was nice BUT $5/mnth!!!!  Undecided

I had to sell the iPhone and move to Verizon (sad day).  Now I am attempting to use a Windows Mobile device.

So still my options appear $5/mnth for the WinMo app or use the standard web interface.   I might spend money on a phone, but $5/mnth for the service still seems too expensive for my use.     I still use the site, but I'm not telling others about it any more.

Odd that your session timeout hasn't changed, because I've been using the web interface for a while and only started to experience errors inconsistently starting in November.

Today was even different.   The web session said it logged me off, but when I got home and went to enter the workout I found that the form was submitted.  Strange!  Like I was logged off AFTER the form submission.

Please let me know if/when you change your pricing model for the mobile interface.

Thanks,

troy,
I use FitSync on my HP.  Haven't treid the iPhone yet (still saving my pennies).  It's great cuz I sync before I go to teh gym, log my workouts and then sync when I get home.  I'm on the annual plan and it works out to 3.33 a month.  To me that's cheap, considering the value I get out of it.  You should see all my old dogeared notebooks from years ago  Grin  It was really hard to figure out where I was going.  So if you're really serious about your fitness, it's worth a cup of joe, dont you think.

Troy are you xxxxing me?  5$ a month is too expensive?  HOw much did you blow on that iPhone?

Seriously man yoiu should see some of hte apps out there for $20 a month that don't do anywhere near what FitSync does.  Really, fitsync is the best bargain around I'm more worried they'll wake up and sell it for waht its really worth!
