I have to say that I am really impressed to see Tai Hau achieving some impressive numbers in the squat rankings (250).  Great job!

David, looks like you and I have some competition.  Tai Hau, you are a force to be reckoned with!

Crashed my bike so now recovering from major shoulder surgery but as soon as I'm able I'll start hitting the squats again.  Can't ride or swim or lift but I'mm thinking I'll shoot for 500 bodyweight squats by mid-January.

Thanks for the motivating words DAvid & paul.  I don't know how you guys do it cuz I was just like a wet spaghetti afterwards.  Gives me a good reason to get a nice deep tissue massage though  Wink

Tai Hau,  unfortunately spaghetti legs come with the package.  In the early days of trying these squats I could barely move around for two days after then Paul found out that stretching right after the attempt helped reduce the trauma.  Of course, I promptly and unashamedly grabbed that advice and was able to push to new limits.  Now...500?...I might have to let Paul keep that crown for a while.

Paul you did 425?! That's pretty hardcore.  Were yoiu able to walk the next day (hee hee).  I know you ride a lot but any tips for reducing soreness and muscle cramps?

OMG!  Paul, here's a  Kiss to soothe the pain you must surely feel.  Well Done!

I've been squatting some, on the side, more like practicing so have kept my data private  Wink  My right quad, in particular, is soooo sore I slapped on some muscle rub yesterday and of couse, smelled like a linament factory.

Thanks guys.  Tai Hau, gotta love the smell of BenGay, always means someone just did a killer workout and is paying the price.

Melissa, here's what works for me - after my BW squats I do an hour on my bike on a trainer spinning a decent gear around 90 RPM followed by stretching.  I drink EFS while riding and an Ultragen right after.  Minimal soreness but work up to it; I do this twice a week boosting the total reps by 25 once a month.

First time I did a BW squats record I didn't ride or stretch and limped for a week.  Legs, back, butt, knees, everything hurt.  Combo of riding, hydration and stretching seem to be the key along with gradual progress.  If you go from sofa to 250 you'll be dead; ease into it.

Tai Hau, for your quads I'd say hydration with a sports drink during, and a post workout recovery drink and stretching after.  Gotta keep the engine lubricated and nourished.  If you need a volunteer to give you a good quad massage you can count on me  Wink
